This consultation gives interested parties the opportunity to comment on the draft ECB Guides to the internal capital and liquidity adequacy assessment processes (ICAAP and ILAAP).
Deadline for submitting comments: midnight CET on 4 May 2018.
Only comments received before this deadline will be considered.
The European Central Bank (ECB) is looking for comments on the draft principles underlying its expectations for banks’ internal capital adequacy assessment processes (ICAAPs) and internal liquidity adequacy assessment processes (ILAAPs).
Adequate levels of capital and liquidity are essential for the resilience of individual banks. Banks are expected to assess the risks they face and, in a forward-looking manner, ensure that all material risks are identified, effectively managed and covered by adequate capital and liquidity levels at all times. Banks submit ICAAP and ILAAP information packages to their Joint Supervisory Teams (JSTs) on a yearly basis. The JSTs take those packages into account in their annual assessments of ICAAPs and ILAAPs, conducted as part of the Supervisory Review and Evaluation Process (SREP).
