Consultation on guides concerning the assessment of licence applications and fintech credit institution licence applications

This consultation gives interested parties the opportunity to comment on a guide to general credit institution licensing assessments and a guide to assessments of fintech credit institution licence applications.

ECB guide to assessments of licence applications and ECB guide to assessments of fintech credit institution licence applications

The ECB consults on a guide to assessments of licence applications and a guide to assessments of fintech credit institution licence applications. The first guide sets out the general process and requirements for assessing banking licence applications. The second document is directed at entities with a fintech business model that are considering applying for a banking licence. Both guides are aimed at making the application process more transparent and helping the applicants in their preparations.

Public hearing

The ECB will hold a public hearing on 26 October 2017, at 17:00 CET, at its premises in Frankfurt am Main.

The event will comprise a presentation followed by a question and answer session in English.

How to attend

Please register your expression of interest in attending the hearing by 18 October 2017 using this form.

For space reasons, attendance will be limited to a maximum of five persons per institution or company, subject to availability.

The deadline for registration is 18 October 2017.

If it is possible to accommodate your request, you will receive an email confirming your registration.

On the day of the hearing, access will only be granted to participants who present their registration confirmation email and a valid identification document, such as a passport or ID card (a driver’s licence will not be accepted).
